Barksdale Officers’ Spouses’ Club Scholarship The Barksdale Officers’ Spouses’ Club, in an effort to assist military families with the financial challenges associated with pursuing a college education, has established a scholarship program, which is now entering its second year. This program hopes to encourage and assist non-military spouses and dependent children in the Barksdale community who are working toward their educational goals. Individuals who are dependents, currently holding a valid military I.D. card of a U.S. Armed Forces member (active duty, guard, and/or reserve to include all ranks ), currently assigned to Barksdale Air Force Base, including dependents of retired and/or deceased U.S. Armed Forces members are all encouraged to apply. Scholarships of up to $1,000 are awarded in two categories: non-military spouses and dependent children. The scholarship award may be used for tuition, fees, and/or school room and board. Selection is based upon completion of an essay question and short-answer questions, which help us, get to know you better as an individual, as well as your academic performance and extracurricular activities.
